Natural beauty cream at home

Today I share with you in this video how to make a natural cream or homemade ointment with antioxidant properties and all the strength of Hibiscus and Calendula.

You are going to need some ingredients:

125 ml of calendula or almond oil
20 grams of dried Hibiscus flowers
10 grams of grated beeswax or flakes. As a vegan option you can use candelilla.

Procedure for this homemade cream:

Grind the dried hibiscus flowers well in a coffee grinder until it becomes a powder. It can also be crushed in a mortar, but it will take more work.

We mix the powder obtained with the oil in a stainless steel jug and place in a bain-marie with low heat. Every now and then we stir and leave it for at least 1 hour. We will have to watch that it does not reach the point of boiling.

While we grate and weigh the beeswax.

After an hour, strain through a gauze cloth and let it drain well. When it cools a little, squeeze the cloth and wring it out to remove any remains.

We return the preparation to a stainless steel jug and add the 10g of beeswax. Return to a bain-marie over low heat until the beeswax is melted.

When it cools down a little, we transfer them to the glass jars. We let it cool completely and finally cover it so that it does not thicken and water enters the preparation.

Duration of natural cream

Because they contain beeswax, these creams last a long time, they do not need preservatives. They keep in good condition for about three months easily. If you want it to last a little longer, something like 6 months, add a few drops of vitamin E.

Properties of the natural face cream

Its texture is incredible. Calendula oil is non-comedogenic, does not clog pores, is light; while hibiscus provides antioxidants and mucilage, making it ideal for maintaining optimal levels of hydration in the skin, reducing expression wrinkles and renewing cells.

This cream deeply hydrates and also helps to even out skin tone because hibiscus contains ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and is ideal for blemished skin. The hydroxy acids (AHA) present help lighten skin tone and reduce signs of hyperpigmentation, such as acne scars. In addition, it inhibits the activity of the enzyme tyrosinase, key in the production of melanin and the subsequent generation of spots.

Hibiscus is also firming and accelerates wound healing, as it increases the production of fibronectin in the skin, a protein that helps promote hydration, elasticity and regeneration in the dermis.

Calendula is also an antioxidant, but it is also healing, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic. Ideal for sensitive skin. It is highly recommended for healing wounds, treating scars, cracked feet and hands, burned or acne-prone skin, mouth ulcers and eczema.

The beeswax in this cream has an emollient action, helps retain skin moisture and keeps it soft. Generates a protective layer against inclement weather such as cold, wind, etc. It also fights free radicals due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action.

It is ideal to apply it at dusk or at night when the sun is already going down, so we could say that it is a night cream. And it is especially for the eye and lip contour that tend to dry out after a day in the sun.

As with any product that is applied to the skin, we recommend that you test this natural cream on your forearm and leave it on for 24 hours to make sure that you do not have any unfavorable reaction.
