#PanSinVeneno Campaign

The #PanSinVeneno Campaign has the support of approximately 40 gastronomic enterprises, as well as peasant and citizen organizations. These entities denounce that the approval of the release of Transgenic HB4 Wheat was carried out without any type of public debate and independent scientific studies that would allow certainty about the safety of said genetically modified organism. The release of this genetically modified organism has generated controversy due to secrecy and lack of scientific information. Many critics consider this action to be undemocratic and endanger biosecurity.

They also invited all citizens to inform themselves on the social networks of the campaign @pansinveneno and adding their signature at any of the collection points.

Therefore, the entire population could be affected through direct consumption of foods produced with this GMO.” indicate the references of the articulation. They also add that the “Concern is related to one of the characteristics of this genetically modified organism: tolerance to the herbicide glufosinate ammonium. This would mean an increase in the use of this pesticide, considered highly dangerous."

After the hearing and the press conference, citizens delivered bread made by bakers to both the Ministry officials and the members of the National Police who were guarding the building and indicated that they hope these are not the last loaves. without poison that Paraguayans consume.
